My cat brought home a present. A rabbit. He ate like half of it. The other half was covered in bees.
Maybe the rabbit got pollen on itself?
Anyone have an idea of why bees would be all over it?

Did they look like this? I have heard that in late summer, the yellowjackets' normal food source dries up and they can turn carnivore. After reading more than I should, I guess they are carnivores most of them time. They primarily eat flies and caterpillars, but they are also attracted to sugary things.

That reminds me of last week...I was mowing the grass and I saw a few hornets buzzing around near the siding on my house. I stopped to watch them, thinking that they were working on a new nest for me to take down. Turns out they were spider hunting. In a matter of a minute or so, I watched both hornets find spiders and just latch on to them, repeatedly jabbing them with their stingers. That was pretty cool.

They were pretty small bees. I did not get close enough to tell if they were baby hornets.

If they're Yellow Jackets, get close enough and you'll find out all you'll ever want to know about them.

Is that what Wikipedia means when they say that Yellowjackets are social insects?
