Looking for SAA type, but don't want to spend $1500. Fired the Heritage Rough Rider 45 today and liked the feel (and the price around $399 retail). Any other recommendations around that price? |

What caliber? What do you plan on using it for? I would look at Ruger. They come in everything from 22 lr to 45 Colt. Ruger's Vaquero line is more "cowboy" oriented while its Blackhawk & Super Blackhawk have adjustable sights. Come in blued and stainless. I have a Vaquero 44 mag as well as a Blackhawk in 44 Special (mfg'd specifically at the request of Lipsey). |

Screaming deals can be had on the Taurus and beretta SAA clones and they are well made. The best made cuurent SAA and it gags me to say it is not the colt. It's the USFA clones I have an early rodeo model (matt finish rubber grips) which is very very good for the money. It's timed better than any current colt I have tried andit was less than 550 when I got it |

Cabella's had a Colt replica in a parkerized finish. When I got mine they were $195 and 300 rounds of .45 Colt were under $100.00. I have no idea what they go for now, or if they still stock them, but I would expect around $250. The ammo has gone up considerably. |

Please check out the usfa line before you spend money on the very rough cabelas gun. For a couple hundred more you get ten times the gun |

My first choice would be the Ruger Vaquero. But then, I've already got three, so, what do I know? Also have a Cimarron in 38/357. Not as nice as the Ruger, but then, what is? |
