After lurking for some time, and being invited by JoelR to join, I thought I would take the plunge and sign up.

My name is Kevin and my company is K&D Holsters. It is a family owned and operated business. I offer a variety of styles of holsters - from pocket to IWB to OWB to cowboy to custom. I'm able to make a variety of accessories for your needs. Here is the latest IWB holster, the Dakota Defender, that we just recently started offering:

Some features of it are:
1) Thin;
2) Adjustable kydex clips - allow for adjustment of the cant/depth;
3) Tuckable - definitive space between clips and body/wings of the holster;
4) Quick access - has a push off point utilized by the thumb to aid in extracting the gun from the holster.

We are expanding our product line in other ways in order to offer what I believe benefits our shooting/carrying experience.

One of the new items in that vein is the offering of the Arma Laser (www.armalaser.com). These are touch sensitive lasers that fit onto the Kel-Tec's, Kahrs, and Glocks. Introductory prices will be as follows:

$ 142.00/shipped - Kel-Tec
$ 156.00/shipped - Kahr/Glock
(Prices reflect 5% savings)

If you order a pocket holster at the same time, which will be shipped with the Arma Laser, the pricing will be as follows:

$ 180.00/shipped - Kel-Tec
$ 194.00/shipped - Kahr/Glock
(Prices reflect 10% savings)

These prices are good through November 30th.

We will also be a source for the P11/PF9 lasers, and others, as they become available. Feel free to contact me via PM here, email (leathercraft@hotmail.com), or at our shop (813-659-1200) if you're interested.

I look forward to being a part of the forum here. Thanks again for the invite JoelR. 8)

That looks like a SWEET holster. Looks like a good meld of the Cochise Defender, The Tucker "Answer", and a Bromeland Max Con V. At least those are the holsters I think I can see in its lineage. And then there's the magic that makes it wholely a K&D masterpiece.

A comment on the cant adjustability. When you wear that type of holster with an extreme cant (~40 degrees or more) it works very well for car and seated carry of a long pistokl (1911a1 in my case) but the slide side clip will intersect the slide and not ride correctly if it's mounted too close to the gun.

I don't know how many people go with > 30 Degree carry but the clip mounting distance is the limiting factor there.

Welcome aboard, Kevin.

As I've said before, I strongly recommend his holsters; I have several -- and two on order -- and like them a whole lot. Kevin's great to deal with, as well.

Kevin makes some of the best pocket holsters for the Kel-Tec P3AT. He is very well known in the Kel-Tec community.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

plblark: You're correct in part with some of the influence. It's very similar to our Cochise Defender, and I took some influence from Tucker's Answer. No influence from Brommeland though. The other one who had some influence was Matt Del Fatti. The clips are set up essentially the same as our Cochise Defender, and yes, there are some limitations in that respect. If a person did want to utilize a greater degree of cant, we could move the forward clip/extend the leather out to allow for that. That would be an easy adjustment (for us) in that respect.

Rem700: Aye, Aye, sir!! :D

K-Man,

Perhaps the Del Fatti influence is what made the ... lines? ... seem similar to a Brommeland? The lines just seem similar. Though I must admit I've been looking at some sleek leather lately and there seem to be a lot of similarities in the lines between yours, Brommeland, HBE, Milt Sparks, and etc..

It's interesting to me to see the common elements in such individual pieces of art that come from the top names in holsters.

I just ordered an Answer from Tucker largely because of teh turnaround rate and features. the Cochise Defender has been in my bookmarks for quite awhile and I'l definitely keep you in mind for future leather purchases.

Welcome aboard and keep up the good work.

The only problem I see with this holster is: it's too good-looking to conceal!

You can suffer with good grace like the rest of us.

Or invite people to look in your pants . . . :)

K-Man

What is your current wait time?
I have 4 of Matt Del Fatti's holsters now & 2 more on the list.
But 18 months is a long time to wait.

Dorian

PS glad to have you join us!

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

plblark: I think you've revealed a common theme - and that is holster makers may utilize aspects of other holster designs, while at the same time they incorporate their own design features. We learn from each other.

Dorian: our current wait time is approximately 10 weeks. We were well beyond that not too long ago, but I recently brought in a full time person and we've been able to bring it down significantly.
