Post subject:  Don Hume Holster order

<rant>
I finally got my new Don Hume holster from http://www.DonHume.com on Friday, and no I have not had time to try it out.

I ordered the holster on 11/7/2006 and was told in my email confirmation that "Items not in stock will ship in 4 to 6 weeks." The order took 9 1/2 weeks, and when I sent numerous email inquiries I received one response that it had not been shipped and they were checking on the shipping date. Not one other email response to any other emails.

Finally, earlier this week I called and the person that answered the phone gave me a status and told me that my holster would be shipped by the end of the week.... WOW, I would have been very happy if someone had replied to any email and told me it was going to be another week or 2, or 3.

Why can't any of these businesses just give an honest answer to a question, since I am spending my money on their product? If they had said 8 to 10 weeks I would have loved getting my order at 9 1/2 weeks.

I had a similar experience from Gunner's Alley. Took months and no updates.

Best experience buying Hume holsters was off e-bay. They don't advertise unless they have them in stock.

I picked up the H721 O.T.: Open Top for my most recent purchase of a Glock G23C.

Here is my first attempt to post a picture here:

Thanks 1911fan, I will keep The Gunners Alley in mind the next time I'm looking for a new Don Hume holster.

Don Hume does a pretty good volume but, as explained to me by a retailer, "they bang 'em out by hand one at a time and in good time". Little solace for the impatient, but I have some Hume products in use DAILY for over ten years. Having said that, it's best to find a stocking dealer when you can.
