Hey guys,

Im new here but I'm looking for some opinions on Side Guard Holsters' products? I have a Springfield XD 40 Service and a XD 9mm Service. So what do you think of the product? Options? Etc...as much feedback would be greatly appreciated!

SGH is also a great local guy to work with and good prices too. I definitely recommend him.

You can get his phone# from his website. Give him a call!

I have 5 or so. For the price they are great.

Not as good as the expensive custom holsters but close for less money.

Good to work with.

I own two and carry one of them every day. (Depends on the day which one I am carrying.)
Not only is he a great guy and an awesome holster maker, he even showed me how to make my own!

Support the world, buy local. ;)

I like mine, a lot. Good price, good craftmanship, made and delivered quickly.

I'll be buying more from SGH as the need arises.

I carry a glock 21 in his Double Clip IWB holster. With the right forward cant that gun is very comfortable to carry for me. I'm about 6'4'' or 6'5'' and 240 pounds to give you some perspective. Conceals perfectly.

Very nice holsters for the price, Srigs will customize your holster within reasonable limits to whatever your specifications require.

Also his lead time isn't bad, you can get a holster pretty quick out of him compared to many other makers.

People have pretty much covered it here.

1) Srigs is a stand up guy. His holsters do what they need to do and if there's confusion or an issue, his after sales service is very good.

2) While most of his lines may not be BBQ show off rigs, they meet the perfect combination of quality, function, and price for me.

3) he's local and involved in the community.

I have 3 or 4 SGH holsters. 2 OWB's for a 1911 and a MP40C. I have a double clip IWB for a J-frame and a OWB for a J-Frame. I also have a pocket mag holster for the LCP and a pocket holster for same. I've recommended him to friends and relatives who have also liked his pocket holsters.

Well, I, for one, think he's a no-good bum!

Nah, just kidding. His work I've seen has been top-notch, and he's a heck of a guy, to boot. You won't be disappointed.

THANK YOU jeremiah,

I was going to say someone needs to call him an complete and total D bag, or he'll never fit his head thru a door.

But thats hard to do of a decent guy who makes good products at a very good price.

I love my SideGuard IWB that Eric made for my Kahr P40. It keeps the gun flat on my body without pinching. It preserves the perfect balance between retention and speed of presentation. The belt loops snap onto my belt easily and do not come unsnapped until I remove the holster at the end of the day. It concealable and comfortable.

Let me compare it to two other holsters I have for this gun, an Alessi and an HBE. As you might know, Alessi and HBE are among the pantheon of leather holster craftsman, only one notch below Del Fatti (who is the king of the leather gods). The SideGuard has a quicker presentation than the Alessi ... one of my complaints about Alessi, Mitch Rosen and others is that they hold the gun WAY too tight. Not so with my SideGuard. Also, the SideGuard is more concealable than my HBE COM III. I believe the reason for this has to do with the way SideGuard cuts / doesn't cut the bottom part of the holster. At the bottom it lays flat against a larger portion of my body, which in turn keeps the stock flatter against my skin, but not so much as to pinch or seem uncomfortable.

The dark hardware was a big plus, and I like the width of the belt loops. My one complaint would be that the edges could have been planed out a little better (for appearance' sake) to make for a smooth, aesthetic arc along all outer edges.

Eric charged a fee far beneath the level of his skill, which IMHO is about $ 25.00 beneath the market value of his holster. I buy holsters in order to carry concealed. This holster has worked out be the most concealable leather IWB that I own for this gun and that in itself is more than enough reason to recommend it.

I have a few of my holster photos here: http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x137/lance22_photo/Holsters/

I won't go that far, but I will complain about his turn around time. <img src="http://www.smileyarena.com/emoticons/Emotions/Hand_Signs/hehe.bmp"/>. It used to be about 1-2 weeks. It's getting quite a bit longer now. Of course, this can be portrayed as a bad thing, but since he doesn't appear to be ignoring his customers, it's a good indicator of the product and it's quality. He's a victim of his success.

I've got a pocket holster, two custom phone holsters and a couple custom IWBs and an OWB from him. Each time I order something it's better quality and design than the last. And he charges a very good price.

I've also bought much more expensive, presentation-quality gear from other places, and while it sometimes looks a little bit higher-end it doesn't seem to function any better.

I have two guns that I carry on a routine basis. For carrying, I have a SGH IWB holster for each gun and that's it. I have never used another holster but these have worked out so well I have no reason to search for another.
