Calling ALL instructors. It's time to use your class lists to get the word out.
Unlike former Rep. Howard Orenstein (a trial lawyer who took a multimillion dollar cut from his law firm's fees in the Minnesota Tobacco case) CCRN-PAC and Minnesota gun owners don't have the money for TV ads, Newspaper ads, phone banks, lawn signs, etc. But they do have the internet and personal telephones and the will to "never forget, always get even" with the most anti-gun Minnesota legislator in the past 30 years.
ALL Minnesota carry permit instructors are asked to join the NRA, CCRN-PAC and other gun owners to spread the word about Howard Orenstein. Expose the anti-gun record he's "hiding" from the voters. You would think he'd be proud of his dedicated anti-gun record but, amazingly, he's ABSOLUTELY SILENT about it on his judicial election web page. It's not good politics in 2008. Too bad. HE chose to be Minnesota's "Mr. Anti-Gun" for two dozen years. He should reap the rewards of his hard work.

Quote: When the U. S. Supreme Court decided that the Second Amendment has a real meaning, the role of judges in enforcing the Constitution and laws became crucial to protecting your right to own and use a gun.
If you live in Ramsey County (or know other gun owners who do), it is essential to get the biggest turnout possible for the September 9th judicial primary election to fill one particular judgeship. Make sure Minnesota's # 1 anti-gun Legislator, former state Representative Howard Orenstein (DFL-St. Paul) doesn't get elected to a judgeship this Fall. Howard authored several assault weapon ban bills, a gun registration bill, a gun forfeiture amendment, and numerous other amendments to increase the hassle of owning guns. Some passed; most didn't; but Howard Orenstein never gave up trying to punish Minnesota's responsible gun owners for society's ills. He proudly worked to earn his 12-year straight "F" rating from all Minnesota gun groups and the NRA. Even after he left politics, Howard continued to lead the anti-gun side. He founded Minnesota's anti-gun lobbying group, Citizens for a Safer Minnesota and as its President he got a $1/2 million grant (from an out-of-state- foundation) to seek more restrictive laws.
For almost three decades Howard has dedicated himself to the anti-gun crusade. He is too much of an ideological advocate ever to be a fair judge. Don't forget, get even in the low-turnout September 9th primary election. If your last name starts with A through M, vote for Paul Godfrey. Paul is not an anti-gun politician but is a gun owner and a good lawyer and will be a sound judge. If your last name starts with N through Z, vote for Gail Chang-Bohr. Gail is not an anti-gun politician but is a good lawyer and will be a sound judge. Because the September 9th election is a primary, two other candidates have to get more votes than Howard. That's why we are asking you to vote for one of these two excellent candidates. Otherwise former Rep. Orenstein will get onto the general election ballot and likely win in a DFL-dominated county like Ramsey. Bring another gun owner to the primary and increase the impact of your visit!

Anyone know anything about Guzik's--also running for Ramsey County judge-- stance on guns?

Don't dilute the vote, vote only for one of these two excellent candidates.
This is Minnesota. Everyone lives in Ramsey county OR knows someone who does.
If you live there, vote on September 9th.
If you don't, contact someone who does and get them to promise to vote on September 9th. Call 'em again the night before and remind them that ALL Minnesota gun owners are depending on them to vote!

Howard Orenstein's own words say that he just wants another punch in his ticket through life.
All the other candidates want to serve justice. Compare, for example, Gail Chang-Bohr's statement "I believe that judges have an impact on people's lives in a lot of ways, and I want to be a judge so that I can ensure that the judicial process serves everyone fairly," she said.
Quote: 8 lawyers vie for rare open judgeship in Ramsey County By Emily Gurnon egurnon@pioneerpress.comArticle Last Updated: 08/26/2008 It's rare for Ramsey County voters to see a contested judicial seat on the ballot. It's even more unusual for there to be no incumbent. * * * Howard Orenstein: Age 52. Lives in St. Paul. Married with three children. Current job: Assistant county attorney in the civil division of the Hennepin County attorney's office... . "This (judgeship) has not been a lifelong ambition of mine," he said. "I've tried to look for opportunities in the community to do good." http://www.twincities.com/stpaul/ci_103 ... ck_check=1
P. S. Orenstein is also silent about his three decades of dedicated service to the anti-gun cause. Why is that? Isn't he proud of his accomplishments? Maybe he fears voter backlash.

www.orensteinforjudge.net
This site has copies of Rep. Howard Orenstein's bills to BAN "assault weapons," to REGISTER firearms, and to adopt all of the hassles contained in HCI's "Brady II" proposal.
IMHO, after watching Howard's actions (not listening to his "soothing words") for over 20 years, his goal is the elimination of firearms from "civilized society" and he will support every incremental step toward that goal. There is nothing he won't do to take away YOUR guns.

I'll be going to the poles on the 9th to vote for Paul.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
