Good Evening Minnesota,
Below are several emails that I sent out yesterday to all members of the House
and Senate. Today, Representative Dave Olin added his name to HF 498 (the Stand
Your Ground bill) and Representative Marty Seifert added his name to both HF 498
and HF 775 (the RKBA Constitutional Amendment bill). That’s the good news.
The report from the Senate is the DFL is in lock step with Larry Pogemiller and
no DFL’er has added their name or support to either of these bills. The boycott
is holding. Of course, Mee Moua is cooperating as an accomplice in the death of
these bills in the Senate. For that matter, no new Senate Republicans have added
their support either.
We know the first and second House committee deadline is March 23rd. If these
bills do not move out of the committee in the House before the deadline, they
are dead for this session. The Senate committee deadlines are not far behind.
Between now and next Friday, I am asking each of you to send very short emails
frequently and every day to all members of both the House and particularly the
Senate, asking that these bills be supported, given a hearing and moved out of
their respective committees for a floor vote. We are in the position of having
nothing to loose and everything to gain. Use the email tool on the
www.mnccrn.org website it will make this task much easier for you. Please sign
up for an alert on these bills and continue to email frequently each day until
you know if your emails were effective. I will update you as I learn more or new
information also.
These bills may die in committee as predicted, but they will certainly die in
committee if we do nothing and just give up now. Let me do the math. If each of
you took five or ten minutes and you sent just two emails to every legislator
each day, they would collectively get over 1,250,000 emails on these two bills
from pro-gun voters, EACH DAY. Your sending only four emails daily would be even
better, that would be almost 12,500 emails per legislator, EACH DAY. You would
all be very difficult to ignore. If everyone of you asked just one pro-gun
friend to help us and send emails well then, double these numbers. Perhaps they
know someone who they can ask to send emails too. You get the idea, the more
love we send, the more love they will feel from us.
Make some daily phone calls also to Larry Pogemiller, Mee Moua and Joe Mullery
if you wish. Let's keep them busy tending to our calls until they listen.
Please do not copy and paste my emails, you need to edit them and make them your
own words. Be polite. Pay attention to Bill numbers so you don’t ask a Senator
to support a House bill or Representative to support a Senate bill. Short and to
the point is better because 12,000 or more emails each day can’t be read anyway.

The decision announced last Friday by the Court of Appeals for the District of
Columbia concerning the DC gun ban clarifies the important need for Minnesotan's
individual right to keep, bear and use arms to be protected by the Minnesota
Constitution. This bill merely submits the proposed Constitutional amendment to
the voters. If you have recently added your name to those above thank you,
otherwise please add your support to this bill and become an author today.

The protection we enjoy in our home, the castle doctrine, is what this proposal
extends to citizens while away from their homes. We already believe people
should not have to retreat from an attacker while in their homes. Why make them
retreat from an imminent attacker when they leave their homes and may be in
unfamiliar surroundings, before they can defend themselves? Turning ones back on
a threat of death or even serious bodily harm at a time like that is not a good
idea.
Of concern is the often fuzzy line between substantial bodily harm and great
bodily harm. We know rape for example is not just bodily harm, but when is it
substantial bodily harm or great bodily harm? How long must a victim allow an
attack against her before it moves to great bodily harm and she can then use
lethal force to stop the threat? A rapist is not likely to give a victim his
assurances that he will only harm her to substantial bodily harm and go no
further (to death or great bodily harm). This bill clarifies when the use of
deadly force is authorized. This bill will save lives, many of whom could be
women.

up to receive your own eBlast so you are guaranteed to get every important
notice about legislation that affects you, and notification of all Gun Owners
Civil Rights Alliance events in St. Paul and all around the state.
If you happen to know other responsible gun owners, please share this eBlast
with every one of them also. Please make a paper copy for those who do not have
access to email. Our thousands of supporters are diverse but we all share one
thing in common, we want to preserve all of our rights as gun owners. Just

If every one of Minnesota’s 500,000 hunters and other gun owners who perhaps do
not hunt, were a sponsor of GOCRA, then no Bill should become law that we did
not support and no person should be elected to any state office who did not
deserve our “A” rating.
Although we have our friends on both sides of the isle, we also have enemies in
the legislature as well. They are very busy with their clever attempts to take
away your rights. If you add your voice to ours, we can stop these very
dangerous Bills from becoming law.
