They did a bag search at the Weird Al concert. . . In my backpack, I had my Glock and holster in a hidden side zipper and two mags in the side pocket (I was pocket carrying my LCP as my shorts all seem to have shrunk since last summer. . .) The only thing my wife had in her very small backpack was her cellphone and her LCP.
The security guy was very thorough and as soon as he saw the mags my wife's eyes got as big as saucers (she's been carrying for about a week now). To my surprise, he said I was good to go and let me through. After looking in her bag, he let her through as well. My wife said I looked as cool as could be when he found them, which is good to hear. In my head I was running through every scenario of how it was going to play out.
So I have to ask - What are they looking for in the bags when they check? Or are they just there to intimidate people from bringing contraband in?

Oddly, I got waved through, carrying a cup of beer.

At the risk of repeating myself...(Can't remember if I've told this story before) My wife and I went to MOA once for a display of Princess Di's dresses. I had a pistol in a fanny pack. They looked in the fanny pack... Blind as bats to anything they're not looking for.

Nah. They really don't much care about it, in practice, unless their nose is rubbed in it; even if the signs were legit, tman would still be exempt; he's got a real badge.

This MAY have been pre-MCPPA, but I don't think it was mall employees anyway. The screeners were trying to keep cameras out, I'm sure.

Both of these are cameras. I wonder how long someone would stand still if you tried to take their picture with either one.
