A friend of mine 's son is a sheriffs deputy and has informed me that the bca is wanting documentation of all crimes committed with semi automatic handguns and long guns. No other weapon types are to be reported to them. Talk about corruption.

is worthy of the mad hatter.

No offence, but, in the broad definition, what other types of guns are there? Are not all handguns semi-auto, in that they fire one round with one pull of the trigger and are not all non-hand guns long guns? I am not trying to be a smart aleck, but maybe there is nothing nafarious on the part of the BCA?

no actually there are single shot handguns and only semi auto long guns not bolt action, pumps, single shot, and only semi auto handuns not revolvers or as stated before single shot. Also not recording any other type of weapons ie knives bats batons. I am assuming you knew there are other types of guns and weapons but maybe my post was confusing.

Sure sounds like someone's trying to collect statistics supporting a semi-auto ban- for the children...

If it were "weapons crimes" that they were interested in, they wouldn't be asking that way; if it were "gun crimes", then they'd want to include, say, crimes committed with revolvers.

I thought Governor Pawlenty was pro-gun???
Doesn't the Commissioner of Public Safety serve at the "pleasure" of Governor Pawlenty?
The buck stops at T-Paws desk.
Phone number is 651-296-3391.
