We need a lot of workers at the GOCRA table to pass out the TRUE story on Barack Obama's anti-gun disaster. We also need one (1) person to organize the effort. GOCRA needs new blood. How about YOU?
The next MWCA gun show is November 1 - 2, 2008 at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center.

GOCRA is Pro Gun Owners' Civil Rights AFAIK
In that case, it makes a LOT of sense to point out Obama's Anti-gun past and suggest voting AGAINST Obama.

GOCRA is the Minnesota Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance.
It's been the gun owners' primary voice at the state capitol since 1989. GOCRA is a Minnesota non-profit corporation. It does lobbying and I've been its registered lobbyist since then.
CCRN was a special purpose division of GOCRA born in 1996. Now that carry permit reform has been enacted, CCRN has gone dormant and the lobbying activities are again being conducted under the GOCRA banner.
The corporation (GOCRA) operates as a Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(4) social welfare organization just like NRA. It has the advantage that its lobbyists are NOT "the NRA" and they are NOT "from out-of-state." Both of those attributes are very valuable at the Capitol in St. Paul.
GOCRA represents the interests of Minnesota's 1,000,000 gun owners with respect to ALL firearm-related regulatory activities.
FWIW, anti-gun legislators (Rep. Howard Orenstein and Sen. Richard Cohen) started Citizens for a Safer Minnesota ("CSM") in the early 1990's in order to challenge the success of GOCRA (and the NRA) in blocking their assault weapon ban bills at a time when the DFL controlled all three branches of Minnesota government.

I'll be in Detroit and unavailable. But this seems like a no brainer. you get to help a good cause by going to a gun show and talking guns and rights with gun owners ... I know, twist your arm, right

If my son's first birthday weren't Saturday, I'd definately volunteer. I wish the timing were different, because I feel like I need to become more active where local gun politics are concerned, and this sounds like a great time.
