Just curious, does anyone have statistics on the last 10 years regarding:

1) exactly how many libraries have been robbed,
2) exactly how many gun incidents (other than our own member-)
3) exactly how many shootings incidents.................. :?:

...at least their sign has "....unless you have a permit....."

I do not understand the need to post, when the spirit of posting is to (try to) keep permit holders out. Then exempt permit holders anyways. Then throw in the fact that the library can't keep us out.

So, why is there a sign? Who here will complain about the misuse of funds?

Maybe they're trying to say permit holders are welcome because of the way they worded it. I'm not sure if I made sense. :?

Pretty much the same sign Hennepin County uses for its libraries and the welfare office. I should e-mail Hennepin County's sign person--if it's still the same person I remember.

Waste of time. Waste of money. Waste of space.

Agreed....but that is also "their" way of sourly salting the fields and not admitting defeat.

Read another way, the "..unless you have a permit..." is from my perspective kind of an admission of defeat.........

The sign says, "Warning: Illegal acts are illegal here."

Duh.

Still, to my mind, this is the best possible sign. It reminds folks that carrying with a permit is an option. :)

Yup, even though functionally useless, it does serve to remind anybody who reads it that there are such things as carry permits. Maybe we should consider it a subtle form of advertising for our cause.

Hmmm... I'm more than comfortable with such signs.

In fact, if anybody were to make a nice version of them and add the TCCarry gopher and URL, and pass them around, that'd be fine with me.

It's the government version of 'permit holders welcome here (except as employees)'.

That would be a great idea! You could even give the proper wording on the statute. :D
