Ive been in there about a dozen times in the last 6 months and never saw it. Yesterday, I came in a different door and there it was. The classic "In accordance with Minnesota law........".
Is this a new sign? Not that it matters......

Now how am I going to buy furniture if I cannot let my gun try it too?

They must have asked the Mall of America where they got those nifty signs...
I can understand that the MOA is doing it to intimidate the millions of visitors that come through there, though I wonder how many people from out of state visit the IKEA? Are they going to ship their furniture home?

No need to go to the store. Just use their online self-service ordering system. After you pass their back-ground check and applicable 10 day waiting period, just to verify that you do not own any firearms, they will gladly let you adopt their junk, after all they are from that gun-free zone - Europe.......

I think people come from miles around to shop IKEA. Before the Bloomington store opened up, when they announced that the store was coming here, they had a lot of human interest stories about people from the area who made vacation trips to Chicago, or Indiana, or whereever the closest store was. The place has an almost cultlike following.
I really don't understand why, though. From what I've seen, much of their stuff is unassembled particle board. Not exactly what I consider furniture. I don't want to bring my dining room set home in a box small enough to easily fit in the trunk of a Geo Metro.

A lot of their furniture is great if you're on a budget and plan to only keep it for a few years (i.e. college students), but in general I've found it to be of pretty poor quality.

I never noticed a posting at IKEA, though I don't really look. I have been there often. I find their furniture to be of decent quality. Sure, it's no Ethan Allen, but you can outfit a house for what you can pay to outfit a room in Ethan Allen. It's good-looking stuff, if you like Scandinavian furniture. If you like early American or Art Deco, well, you're outta luck.
Much of our house is IKEA furnished. I suppose I could pay 2-3 times as much and get better quality, but I've had few issues with IKEA. And as for fitting a dining room set in the trunk of a Geo Metro... Well... Actually, a Grand Caravan, some strong friends and the willingness to collect hex wrenches of various sizes are what you need at IKEA.
The next time we go there (and there will be a next time I'm sure), I'll check for postings and, if nobody else has done it by then, take a picture with my cell phone.

It's much better quality particleboard than what you get most places.
But it shouldn't be confused with actual furniture.

I wanted a couch for the 6 months that I am in Rochester. Ended up finding one at IKEA for $233 after tax. Online the price was $250, and they wanted $305 for S&H. Yes, more then the couch.

they used to have it next to the door, near foot level.. white lettering painted on the glass..
Do they have a more compliant sign now?

Back when they opened I worked at a non-profit, and all my socialist friends said Ikea was WAY better than "horrible American furniture". So ... the wife and I took a trip to IKEA and walked through the whole store.
When we left, we thought it was like a 'walk through" of the college dorm's back from 'the day' ... or maybe like rummage sale stuff in really good shape ... I bet IKEA is the best furniture in those German Hostels.
Those Euro's can build a great car but evidentally they don't know jack [deleted] about furniture.
